Background and Resources
Oral interviews of World War II veterans

There are 19 million war veterans living in the United States today, but every day we lose 1,700 of them. This project will be a way for us to honor our nation's war veterans for their service and to collect their stories and experiences for future generations.

What I am discovering
Sourced below is a packet that contains step-by-step directions for how to conduct your own interview. It is designed for secondary students to do in small groups.

John Naisbitt and I modeled how to conduct an interview with World War II veteran Howard Hatch. The students will conduct, tape, and transcript interviews which will be burned to DVD, submitted to library archives, and posted to our website
http://www.freewebs.com/hinsdalehistorygk-12/worldwarii.htm
as primary sources for others.

Students will also present their work to the class.
